Founded in 1922 as the Bermuda General Agency Limited, we have developed over the years into what is now known as BGA Wholesale Distributor. We form the wholesale arm of BDC 2000 Ltd., a company that began in 1902 as Bermuda Drug Company Limited.
Today, BGA Wholesale Distributor supplies a full range of wholesale service to virtually every supermarket, drug store, hotel and guesthouse in Bermuda. Our product mix is diverse and includes some of the most reputable brands in the world, including Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Cadbury, Clorox, Gilette, Heinz, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg’s, Procter & Gamble, Revlon, GlaxoSmithKline, Schering Plough, S.C. Johnson and Pfizer, to name a few.
BGA’s large, modern warehouse facility stands on 3.5 acres and is located a short distance from Hamilton’s bustling Front Street. It offers over 2,130,000 cubic feet of storage space, a 76,000 cubic-foot confectionery room (60° F) and a small freezer.
In addition to state of the art warehouse facilities, our automated wholesale inventory and order system is second to none. In 1995, a 3 million dollar upgrade brought BGA’s wholesale system to an industry standard comparable with major wholesalers in the U.S., Canada and Europe. A new 130,000 cubic-foot pick area was set in place and the automated system, which runs on an AS/400, allows us to service a product base of 9,900 SKUs.
BGA operates a fleet of 19 trucks and vans, delivering a vast array. of products to customers throughout the island. Company sales representatives are equipped with Handheld Computers that allow them to work from a customized order guide, expediting the ordering process.
